Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born August 8, 1989, in Paris. When she was five, she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she attended The Dragon School. Emma was only six when she made the decision to become an actress. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she was taught acting and singing. At the age of ten the actress took part in as the lead in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the movie adaptation from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theatre teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film broke all records in terms of the opening weekend and numbers, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. Critics were impressed with the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed and widely read, praised her performance as admirable. Emma received five awards in recognition of her work in the movie.
